When a Child Returns from the run the Child Welfare Professional will:
Step 1: The Child Welfare Professional will notify all pertinent parties & Missing Child Point of Contact (MCPOC) of the child’s return and document the information in FSFN.
Step 2: The child’s recovery shall be documented in FSFN by completing the electronic Missing Child Report (MCR) form within 24 hours upon learning that a missing child has been located. This includes weekends and holidays. A Standard Recovery needs to be completed in FSFN if the child is missing for over a 24-hour period.
Step 3: If Law Enforcement doesn’t recover the child, the Child Welfare Professional must contact Law Enforcement to inform them of the child’s return and ask them to resolve the case in Florida Children Information Clearinghouse (FCIC).
Step 4: The Child Welfare Professional must visit with the child within 24 hours of notification and complete a Runaway Debriefing Form to assess the child’s safety & well-being in addition to determining the reason for the run.
Step 5: The Child Welfare Professional must complete the Missing Child Action Form for the child’s return. Note: This can be located on the (X:) Drive on the Training Public Folder.
